The 19-year-old girls’ rugby football team of Swami Vivekananda Government Model School, Sai Shergarh, created history with a spectacular performance by defeating the host team Babu Gularam Choudhary Government Senior Secondary School, Ratkudia (Bhopalgarh) 15-5 in the match.
The winning team included Priyanka Kanwar, Mastana Kanwar, Laxmi Kanwar, Puran Kanwar, Bhagwati Kanwar, Pooja Kanwar, Pinky, Prakash Kanwar, Raveena Kanwar, Babu Devi, Poonam Devi, and Lichchu Kanwar.
The team was trained by Physical Education instructor Madan Singh Rathore, while Bhanwarlal, Kanwari Lal, and Sonu provided excellent guidance as team supervisors.
Upon returning to the school, the school family gave the girls a grand welcome. On this occasion, Principal Shiv Datt Charan said,
“This victory is the result of our girls’ dedication, discipline, and hard work. We are confident that our team will also make Jodhpur district proud at the state level.”
The team will now represent Jodhpur district in the state-level competition.
